Many women don't find out what their pelvic floor is until after they give birth. Largely this is because our society does not talk about the role of the pelvic floor in our bodies when it's functioning well. While it is very common to have things like stress, urge, and/or urinary incontinence show up postpartum, these are not normal conditions that we should accept and live with because they can be treated.

Young girls and women who have not been pregnant can also experience dysfunction in their pelvic floor muscles, which causes pain as well as physical and emotional discomfort. Most of these dysfunctions can be treated with some mindful awareness and a good treatment plan.

This workshop is not the treatment plan, but simply an introduction to what this fascinating group of muscles is doing for you and why you should get informed. You will leave well-informed and hopefully very interested in becoming an advocate for your own pelvic floor health. No matter what your age or stage of life, there is no better time than the present to get to know your deep core!

Bring a journal, wear comfortable clothing, and expect to move occasionally with some gentle breathing exercises and movements.
