This workshop is an introduction to herbal and folk remedies for the whole family. We will draw from what you probably already have at home, as well as learn about some herbs to start building your natural medicine cabinet. We will talk about colds, bug bites, fevers, and other things that commonly strike. We will prepare echinacea tincture and fire cider to take home.
Everything in this workshop is appropriate for pregnant and nursing women, and children over one (since honey is used in some recipes).
Tamar is a mama of three who has spent the last almost 20 years as a nonprofit professional, while studying and teaching her passions on the side. Tamar studies folk herbalism, primarily under the guidance of Susan Hess. She believes strongly in the healing power of plants, food, and our environment. She is committed to teaching women in community, and believes in the strength we find together and in each other. Tamar is also a DONA-trained postpartum doula, a Birth Arts International-trained childbirth educator, and is currently studying to become a lactation consultant. She has been practicing and (on and off) teaching yoga for the last 23 years.
